2 euro Slovakia 2013 Constantine and Methodius in proof

Post by luit »

The 2 euro Slovakia 2013 Constantine and Methodius is also minted in proof quality.
NBS informed me about the issuing volume and also told it is not for sale
I would like to inform you
that the proof version of the commemorative coins has been emitted (in
issuing volume of 10,300 coins) only for the needs of the National Bank of
Slovakia in connection with the nationwide celebration of the 1150th
anniversary of the arrival of the mission of Constantine and Methodius to
Great Moravia and they are not for sale.

Thank you for your understanding.

With best regards,
....
Press and Information
I don't understand why it is not sold and also have no idea how the coins are issued.
Maybe one of our forummembers of Slovakia (or other countries with good connections with NBS) can tell more?

Of course I like to have this coin, so if somebody can help just send a PM.

It's really strange indeed.
Probably they will give to employees or priests or something like that... (just guessing...)
But 10000 pieces are too many...
At the moment I haven't seen any of these in ebay.

Interesting... it says only a few will be for sale.
I think 275E it's too much for 10.000 pieces... hopefully a lot of these coins will be for sale soon.

I think current prices are ridicolous as long as it is unknow how this coins will be issued.
The number of 10.300 is for to high for such prices, and one way or another, finally the coins will appear.

Maybe eurik1 can tell how he gets the coins he can sell.......

Look at e-bay price: 399€.

Now I have for sale on price €380.00 and no discounts.

Mintage is 10.300 pcs, but out are only 5 pieces in wooden box (total pieces: 300) and about 120 pieces in envelope (total pieces: 10.000)

... Price won't fall down ;)

How can you be so sure about that? Over 10.000 is a lot and sooner or later they will come out, or do you think they will stay forever in a safe somewhere?
And as with all eurocoins, after some years a coin just is not "hot" anymore and then demand lowers....
