Hello Jore ;)

What does mind exactly? From now the edition of 2 Euros CC will be more limited?
Do you think that finally the notes 1 Euro and 2 Euro will start up?
We will expect more news about it because it will be very interesting for a lot of us
collecting 2 Euro coins.
Thank you for your attention
Best regards from Manresa

My point of view:
Regarding the quantity of facial value minted every year is limited by ECB , if there is 2x2€ cc per year, mintages may be lower and so more difficult to find at face value (like Malta 2011, Netherland 2011 and Portugal 2012 for example)
If bank notes of 1 and 2€ will be print, quantity of minted coins from same face value will be decrease(always to respect ECB 's quotas)
Finally, less quantity of 1 and 2 euro coins , more 2 € commemorative coins = collect these 2€ cc will probably cost us a fortune.
This is my first sensations, this amendment is not very good idea for collectors I think.

It has a downside, but also an upside. When they introduce the banknotes for 1 and 2€ , The value of the existing 1 and 2€ coins that we collected already, will go up, as there will be less coins and more banknotes.
Also the 1 and 2 cents will eventually dissapear i think. They cost alot to make, and most ppl dont pay with them (how many ppl throw them in a jar at home instead of spending them in the shop? :-D )

Well if you guys in Europe follow the lead of Australia this is what will happen ... :D

Over here the $1 note was replaced by a $1 coin in 1984. 8-)
Then in 1988 the $2 note was replaced by a $2 coin.

Then in 1991 the 1 cent and 2 cent coins were discontinued never to be used again. :?

So based on that Europe will never introduce €1 or €2 notes and you will eventually stop using 1 cent and 2 cent coins.

That is my theory anyway ...

Cheers Mike
