Dutch TYE coin

I tried to get the Dutch 2012 TYE coin directly from the Dutch Mint because it is not distributed to collectors through postoffices or banks.
Explained them that I like to have a lot of coins to distribute for face value with postage costs especially for swappers at the euroswapper forum.
They were enhousiastic about the idea of euroswapper, but today I got info from KNM that they could not deliver us coins.
It might be obvious now that KNM only in words is supporting collectors but when it realy matters they only go for a profit as big as possible
So we can place Royal Dutch Mint in the same list as Monaco, Malta, Portugal etc. where mints are very collector unfriendly

You are right, and do not forget the Luxembourg....
They were the first ones to sell rolls 2€CC more expensive.

In Belgium, not this problem, rolls, at cost price, directly at the national bank.
I am going to fetch (its exit) 50 rolls of 2€CC TYE.
I have many of swappers to be satisfied.

Hello Luit,

I heard you can buy on the coinfair Den Haag. That's a week before the asually in Utrecht. I think not for normal prices, but more then 3 euro each roll. Paper is expensive by KNM, maybe we can send packet of paper:)

Yes you're right, but at least ordering them is quite simple, just email them and it's OK.
When I look at Dutch Erasmus rolls last year the price was ridicoulous high (75 euro) and it was difficult to order them because they were available very limited.

I remember last summer on 2008 I was on holidays on France, the 2€ CC was issued while I was there, so I went to the Monnaie.... no rolls, then I went to the Banque du France in Paris....... no client, no rolls.

From Paris I went to Tolouse to spend some days there...... I knew there was an office from de BdF, so I asked there for some rolls....... the cashier was really bored, he gave me as many rolls as I need, I was lucky, I know.

Get rolls it´s not as easy as was last years, for example there are some cities in Spain which they are waiting for the TYE rolls, even in Madrid we have some difficulties...... no more than 4 rolls per person each day... last years was too easy, you arrive to the bank with 1000 euros and you get rolls for all your friends, just in one visit.

Hi,
Lucky me, I am living in Finland. Ordering from Mint of Finland is very easy. I have only to click at order 2 euro cc and I get 5 rolls for 355 euro + postal fee. That´s only 71 euro a roll
No wonder I order them from dealers and pay 55-60 euro a roll.
Why not take them from banks? They don´t have them.
So if you sometimes get no answer from me or you get a negative answer, it´s because Fin coins are more expensive than face value to me and I don´t want to get so many foreign euros to my swaplist.

It's horrible, when you read it here. More and more countries come with some kind of process that means more money for the mint (or few dealers) and a lot of problems for the collectors. they either limit the mintage or decrease the amount of unc coins by mixing them intomthe circulation. Anyway, the collectors cannot get the coins easily.
From my point of view this should not be allowed and I hope that somebody in EU will come and stop those practice soon. Every country can issue collectors coins (silver, gold....) and of course those are not available for nominal value. it is up to collectors if they want them or not. But 2 euro cc coins are normal coins that always have value of 2 eur, so there is no reason why to sell them for more in the bank.
