The price of Malta 2 Euro Coin 2011 has gone up because more than 80% of the coins were given to coin dealers. Currently, there is a website which is collecting names so as to put pressure on the Central Bank of Malta to give more importance to euro-collectors in future issues of commemorative coins. This website is:

Maybe it would also be a good idea to do similar petitions to Monaco, Portugal, Netherlands, Slovenia etc....

Obviously it is not necessary anymore to have a petition for Malta.
They already have the orderform on their site: http://www.centralbankmalta.org/site/MCDC_2012.html

Of course this does not guarantee anything.
Unfortunately they choose the same method of Royal Dutch Mint, just make rolls very expensive.

Maybe because Slovenia coins are also very difficult or impossible to order from outside Slovenia?

in my opinion we swapper are also fault

if we wont buy them by sellers they never couln't ask such high prices

i believe that 2€ stay always 2€ the only coast that a coin can be higher is the price surplus we have to pay at the Nationa bank

such as LU, MT, NL and perhaps some others

We as swappers can do something to the sellers let them stay with their coins

Prices like 14 € or higher are not realistic that's up not 100% but 1000% and even more

for a wapper is that very expensive and with the time a lot of us will leave that beautifull hobby

thierry,

Realistic is a price , which the collector is ready to pay. It can be 100% of issue or 1000% if you like.
The 14E is a big price for you. You are lucky. I am collecting all proof CC and all standard 2E and some sets.
And what should I do ? I am crying and paying .
